I am married to a "Malherek". We are pretty sure that the name was originally "Malcherek" in Poland.
There has been quite a bit of research done on the Malherek family from the Blue Earth, MN by my wife's cousins. I am trying to determine whether your John Malcherek is the brother of a Martin Malherek (b.1855 Poland, d. 1938
Minnesota). I believe this to be the case but do not have genealogical proof.
At one time the families seemed to have lived in the same part of
Minnesota but did not seem to interact with one another. Some even are buried in the same cemetery in Blue Earth, MN.
I think John became divorced from
Angeline and moved to Colorado....some of the data that suggests this include the following:
* 1900 - John/Angeline & Family show up in Fed Census in
Pilot Grove,
Faribault MN
* 1910 - Angeline & Family are alone in Fed Census in MN
* 1910 - A Divorced John Malcharak appears in Pueblo
Colorado in the Fed Census about the same age as the one from MN in 1900
* 1920 - A Divorced John Malcherek appears in Pueblo
Colorado during the Fed Census about the same age as the one from MN in 1900
Would like very much to compare notes. Best Regards.
