Yes, there is a place called Grygla. The town's web page is located at:
http://www.grygla.govoffice2.com/ While you're at that site, look at the history information. At the time Sarah died in 1902, the town was about 3 years old and the area was mainly swamp and bog.
The original obituary for Mrs. Clark appeared in the 1 Jan 1903 Warren
Sheaf newspaper in Warren,
Minnesota. If you go to
www.pvillage.org and type in "
Clark" in the general search box, a listing of all the
Clark info in their files comes up....including the "Mrs. Clark" obituary I mentioned. Information on how to order a copy of the obituary is included on this page. Allen W's obituary appeared in 3 different newspapers. The information on the publication date for that is listed also at
www.pvillage.orgSarah's death is not listed at
www.mnhs.org (the
Minnesota State Historical Society's on-line birth and death certificate info web site). It looks like her son's is there, though.
Sarah died when Grygla was quite new, and as far as I can tell, it is possible that a pastor visiting the community led her burial service. The people in Grygla could possibly tell you more.
www.pvillage.org mentions that it is possible Sarah was buried in "Rollis". This is a township in
Marshall county near Grygla. The town of
Gatzke is there. The
Marshall county History book mentions that "Rollis township is named for Mr. Rollis who kept the first grocery store in the area and consequently the first post office was named Rollis...Fram, which was run by Ruth C. Clark, was a mile and one-half west of what is now
Gatzke" (pg 637) In another location, I saw a mention that "
Fram" may be the original name of
Gatzke.
The following link will bring you to an 1909 plat map for Rollis township. John and Andrew
Clark both owned land in section 16 at the time this map was drawn up (note: each section is one mile square).
