My husband's great grandmother was Hilma Christina Lindstrom, second child of Lewis and Anna Lindstrom. The Lindstroms (John Charles and Hilma the only children at the time) immigrated to the United States in 1881 and went straight to Altona, Illinois. They even put Altona down as their destination when they left Sweden. Most of their eleven children stayed in the northwestern Illinois area, but others went to Canada, Iowa, Minnesota, etc. All our information says that Anna was an Olsson, although it's possible that her Swedish name was actually Persdotter. According to the immigration records, her mother was Britta Persdotter. She came with them to the U. S., but I don't know what happened to her. I don't know why Emil would have said she was an Anderson.
