Hello. I have a Marshall County History book, big red volume, published in 1976, that covers the towns and townships of the County. I would be happy to do lookups in it.

Hi, hoping you will be able to find some information about the Frank and Anna Schantzen family, and Nick and Lena Schantzen family. They lived at Radium Comstock Township.
Any information would be appreciated.
Reagards,
Suzanne

There is an article about Nicholas and Lena (Lenhart) Schantzen plus a family picture, a huge article about Frank and Mary (Schantzen) Rutz, another article about Fred and Anne (Schantzen) Monroe plus wedding picture. Write to me at pianoboe@aol.com and I'll try to figure out how to get this to you. The book is very bulky to try to scan articles.

Hans Andreas JENSEN (b 1859), wife Henrietta, children Einar, Thorval, and Jennie are together then at Marshall Co., MN, Viking Twp. in 1920.
Is there any information on them, and especially another child Henry b 1901? Thanks.

Looking through all the index (alphabetized, fortunately) for all the towns and townships there was none of your Jensens. However, in the History of Viking Township, I found a couple of pictures. I will email you offsite. Dee

The 1980 history book does not list his name however the general history of the town indicates Marshall County was formed in 1879 and the county seat was located in Warren in 1881. In August 1881 a brief history was started by the editor of the Warren Sheaf but he sold out before it was completed. The town was platted in 1879, lots were sold in 1880 and by 1881 Warren had a population of 300 and 53 businesses. Perhaps he worked in one of these or on one of the bonanza farms located here. It is possible the County Courthouse could have some record of his death. Try 218-745-4801, the County Recorder's Office.

I am looking information on my Grandfather's family. Eddie Arthur was born in Warren, MN April 18, 1887. I believe his parents names were Otto and Hulda Johnson. I cannot find the family in the census. At some point Eddie moved to Montana and married my grandmother Alice Jane Trulock on April 10, 1918 at Dawson County (near Glendive). Is there any info in your History Book on this family? Any help will be great, thanks!

I'll be glad to do a lookup. My problem is that I'm in California at the moment and the book is in Florida. I may be here another month. If you'll write to me at my email address pianoboe@aol.com with your email address, I'll contact you as soon as I get back there. I've printed out your request. Dee

Dee,
Is there any mention of an Owen Mulvey in the book?
He worked for the railroad, and he died in 1910 from typhoid fever.
Thanks!
