Researching ENGSTROM and ERICKSON in Athens Twp, Isanti County, 1800s. I am interested in interpreting a census record I transcribed from 1870, which lists 2 ENGSTROM families, one headed by Hans and the other (on the next census page) headed by Peter. Hans Engstrom's household lists Margaret (wife?), Anna, Betsey, Christine, Andrew and Eliza. Peter Engstrom's household consists of Christine (wife?) and Swan (Svan), who is my great-grandfather. Does anyone know if the two heads of Engstrom houses, Hans and Peter, are related somehow? Brothers, perhaps? In the 1870 census they are 50 and 46 years old, respectively. Swan Engstrom married Marie FREDRICKSON in Cambridge in 1872. She was the daughter of Olaf FREDRICKSON and Anna PERSON. I have quite a bit of information on these families, and would like to share.
