There is a whole branch of my family which dropped off the face of the earth and I would welcome any assistance in locating information about them. My gg grandfather and gg grandmother lived in Houston County from 1856-1870, and then they lived in La Crosse from 1870-1898. After reaching their teens each child disappeared! (Even though my gggrandma told the 1900 census that 11 of them were alive) The names of this family are Frank Dameron (raft pilot), Eliza Cody Dameron, and their children are John F. (b1856-MN), Mary Ann (b. 1858-MN), Charles (b.1860-MN), Elizabeth (b.1862-MN, Nancy Agnes (b. 1864-MN), Dennis (b.1866-MN), William (b.1871-WI), Susan (b.1874- La Crosse), Kate (b.1875- La Crosse),Matthew (b.1877-WI), Lillian Mae (b.1879 LaCrosse), Belle (b.1876-La Crosse),Emma b. 1881 La Crosse. They are sometimes listed as Damron or Diamon or Diamond....go figure! Anyway I already have census info - but I would really welcome any or all biographical information on these individuals......Did they join the priesthood/convent?(Eliza was irish)...can anyone find marriages for the girls?...did some of the boys change their name to Diamond?? why? ...did they all die of disease?.. were they killed in the Minnesota indian uprising?..is there a prison record?...I have no idea...but only Susan is known to have had children. If you have any Damron/Dameron/Diamond information from Houston County in the latter half of the 1800s I would love to hear from you.....
