Hi Chip;

I have no additional data from this cemetery, nor have I been there. I got this info the old fashioned way, by a snail mail inquiry. AFAIK, no other data exists for it on the web.

I managed to develop a contact there who supplied this info. She agreed to assist in photocopying all of the early records for me with the understanding that I would post them here. When I attempted to follow up on this several months later, I recd no reply to my email. So I don't know...

Now, due to the press of other responsibilites, I don't have the time to pursue it (sigh). If you, or any other interested party, care to work on that angle, I would gladly send copies of my notes and correspondance.

Incidentally, I was able to confirm an 1882 death on the above list (T. BISSEN) from the Index of Death Records for the Town of Crooked Creek. This is available on LDS microfilm (#1316884) and has a detailed entry for the deaths, including POB and "Date of arrival in Minnesota" (March 20, 1874 for my gggf).

Also, the Lacrosse (WI) public library has early newspapers, where I found many obits for Houston Co. residents going back to 1900-1920. Index is online and they will (or would) look up and copy citations for a few bucks.

Hope this helps you.

Gary
