We are looking for descendants of Mary E. (Varner) Clark. We are hoping her descendants have old photographs of her Varner family when they first resided in Manitoba, Canada, (where Mary was born) and then the Kalispell, Montana, area where the family moved about 1893. Mary last appeared with her family in the 1900 Jocko Twp., Flathead County, Montana, census. She next turns up in the 1953 obituaries of her sisters, Minnie and Lucile who died a month apart. She then appears in the 1972 obituary of her brother-in-law Chester Kenady as being in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mary's parents were David Albert and Barbara Euphebes (Halcrow/Harcrow). David was born in Freeport, Pennsylvania, and migrated with his parents to Wright County, Minnesota, about 1857--his parents were Solomon Varner and Martha Magdalena (Burtner). Barbara Euphebes was born in York, Hudson Bay, Manitoba, Canada.

There is a possible death certificate for Mary in 1954, which I will check out at the MHS in the next couple of weeks--the index shows no mother's maiden name, no birth date, and no place of birth.

So far it seems that Margaret (Varner) Stopher is the only sister that had a child or children. Mary Clark and sister Barbara we still don't know about.
