I have a December 1862 letter/envelope addressed to Joseph B Converse at Pineisland, Goodhue County, Minnesota. The salutation reads, "My dear brother and sister." It's confusing because the letter seems to be also be written from Pineisland, but talks about Joseph (and his sister?) coming for a visit in the spring. The letter closes with

"Direct your leter to
H __?__ Convers
Pineisland Minn
Goodhue County

The envelope also has "Please forward this" on the face.

I didn't find Convers(e) in the surname list for Goodhue County. Later correspondence is addressed to J B Converse at Olivia MN. Does anyone have any basic info on this family including any knowledge of how they got to Pine Island?
