Hello Helen,
guess this is the same person:
Reinboldt HAAS
*1844 in Stetten (now part of Loerrach Baden in the south of Germany at the border to Switzerland)
He emigrated with his parents and sister Christina (*1843) in July 1846 (20th) to the Untited States. Parents:
Johann Jakob HAAS
* 1806 in Stetten
+ 1852 in Amerika
oo 1841 in Stetten
Rosina MUCHENBERGER
* 1815 in Inzlingen, Lörrach
and older brother *1842 with the same christian name died in infancy (15 days old)
You can look up all this dates, as well as the pedigree and a lot of biographical information to his ancestors on this site:
http://www.geschichtsverein-markgraeflerland.de/Some parts are in English, but the additional info is in German. Go to Ortsippenbuch online on the left and then to Stetten on the right - now you can change to an English version.
There is a letter from Reinboldts parents (written in Milwaukee)to their friends in Stetten. They discribe their life in the States as well as detailed instructions for emigration. The letter was submitted through Inge Gula. If you want to contact her, mail me for her address.
