Can you give a little more detail about Emma/Emily? Southern MN can be a little confusing. There's a Blue Earth county and a Faribault city in Rice county as well. So make sure the location is correct.

Have you tried these links?
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mnfariba/cemeteries/fcemet...

http://www.dalbydata.com/user.php?action=cemsearch

My O'Gormans came from County Clare to Dixon, IL before 1855. They migrated to Olmsted County, MN near Rochester. William O'Gorman married Ellen Daly in Nov 12, 1877 in Rochester. They had 10 children as far as I know but they moved to Grand Forks, ND probably about 1880. One son was Charles Edward O'Gorman, born 1898. He married Eileen Alice Grimes, my great aunt in Grand Forks, where they lived and died.

Charles and Eileen had four children. Kathleen is living in CA. William was still living about 8 years ago when jhe came to a reunion in MN. They also had a son David Grimes O'Gorman b. 1940 for whom I have no info.

Let me know if anything connects.

It appears to me that Freeman was named after his father's cousin Freeman Spencer Wilson:

1. John Wilson b. 1709
2. Joshua Wilson b. 1761
3. Freeman Spencer Wilson 1789
2. Isaac Wilson b. 1752
3. James Wilson b. 1779
4. Freeman Wilson b. 1806
I have info on their family, but, little, on Gjest, Gunhild, their siblings, or their ancestors. I have gotten some info on all their children, except for Carl. My In-Laws live in Austin, MN and when we go there, I would love to visit the Dell Cemetery and view the landscape of my family roots. Any info you have would be much appreciated. I tried emailing you at the address listed, but, it was returned to me.
Thank you very much,
Fred Ekrem

Gayle posted a message to the mail list that didn't copy here - in part "If anyone knows who has an inventory of the cemeteries in Blue Earth County, I would be very interested."

Some sources include the transcripts posted under 'Cemeteries' on http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mnfariba/ They were done by Diane Oldfather as part of the MGS cemetery project http://mngs.org/cemetery.htm John Dalby's entries at Dalbydata.com are also a copy of Diane's work. I do know she had not completed verifying her work when she died. Her family passed these files to me to format for MGS & I'm in the process of updating the map for the MGS book. Another resource is FindAGrave.com - volunteer entries, but it appears that most, if not all, cemeteries are entered and some energetic folks seem to be trying to complete entries. For good local knowledge, the people at the county historical society in Blue Earth are very nice and helpful.

Julius Nimz had a brother Ernest Nimz who died 28 Sept 1946 his wife was Ida. I know this based upon my aunt Vera Hinz's diary! Their father was August Nimz of Gellin East Prussia. Julius was born in Baldenburg west Prussia. August was dead by 1922 when Julius applied to return to prussia to visit brothers and sister.

Could you send me a link?

Based on what his passport said, Julius Nimz's father was August Nimz. I don't have a name for his mother. Julius appears to be from the town of Neustettin and/or Gellin in what is now northwestern Poland. His siblings were Herman, Ernest, Carl and Albert Nimz and Philomena Nimz Kopeschke.

Thanks for replying!

I see that this information is years and years old, but I still find it very interesting.. I am a descendant of the Elmer family, My Grandfather was an Elmer, his name was William and he was Herman's baby brother. I guess he was adopted by a different family when their parents died, and he ended up in Washington State where Mom was born. I know there is a whole branch of the Elmer family in Minnesota? I am trying to find out any information that I can about Grandpa and his brothers, I wanted to know about his Mother, but unfortunately he was only two when she died and he didn't even know her maiden name, so I am not finding much information....

I had heard about the Elmer Family Band through my cousin Terry who came out there to visit once...... Please contact me if you can. Neoma Gail

Okay, I have done some research on this, and I'm pretty sure of the following destinies for the four Ackerman sisters:

Frances (Franc) Ackerman (1884-1946). As mentioned before, she married Frank Ernst Reusswig (1887-1952). They had at least one son -- Robert William Reusswig (1918-2006) -- and moved permanently to Portland, Oregon.

Floy Mil Ackerman (1880-1973). Floy married Charles H. Freer in 1907 and moved permanently to Portland, Oregon. They had one daughter, Alice, who was born in 1908 and appears to have died in 1919.

Harriet (Hattie) Ackerman (1882-1916). She married Albert A. Tressler (b. 1882) in 1909. She appears to have died without having born any children. Albert Tressler remarried later and had at least one child.

Hazel C. Ackerman (b. 1887). She appears never to have married. She moved to Minneapolis before 1920, and probably died sometime between 1930 and 1940.

Cheers,
Matt

Just found that Harriet Ackerman married Albert A Tressler and dies October 18, 1916 @ 32/33. By 1920 Albert has remarried. It's interesting that he can't be found in a 1910 census; however, suspect it's due to misspelling on the census taker's part.
Thank you for the info on Franc--it was throwing me as to whether this child was male/female--although the census did say female.
Well, I've provided my email and can share Lucy Anderson's parents info if interested.

Ah, sorry, I misunderstood which direction you were researching. I don't know much about the descendants of Augustus Ackerman, except for one grandson.

Lucy Anderson Ackerman died in 1935.

Her daughter, Frances "Franc" Ackerman, married Frank Ernst Reusswig. See: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=73... . They had four sons, but I only know the name of Robert "Bob" William Reusswig (1918-2006). His obituary is at http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=74... . From the obituary, it is fairly simple to reconstruct his descendants down to the present day, and I have done so on my Ancestry tree.

Not sure whom Augustus Ackerman's other three daughters (Harriet, Hazel, and Floy/Flay) married.

You're more than welcome to contact me; however, I also, as posted, am interested in Dr Ackerman's family--who they married---and so forth.
I visited your tree and see that you have NOTHING ON LUCY ANDERSON--perhaps you don't have that information. If interested, I can assist you with that.
Lucy's brother, Andrew appears to have gone to Blue Earth City, as well.
I don't have Lucy Ackerman's death date in my files and due to this contact, may re-visit my notes again in an attempt to see if I can further my facts farther along than what I had back in 2010.
My email addy is genefrog52@yahoo.com

Re: Dr Augustus Ackerman

I have a fair amount of information on Augustus Ackerman's family. See: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/33965356/person/19300377449

Augustus Ackerman was born in Burnett Junction, Wisconsin, in May 1851. He is the son of James Seeber Ackerman (1815-1899) and Cornelia B. Van Brunt, both from New York. The Ackerman line has been traced back to the Netherlands in the 1500's.

Augustus had one brother that I know of -- James Oscar Ackerman (1841-1909). I descend from James Oscar Ackerman.

I'm happy to share information, and I'm particularly interested to know about the families of Augustus Ackerman's daughters. Please let me know how to contact you!

Yes, Nan and Henry King lived in Lakota. One of his sone, Harold married Grace O'Gorman of Grand Forks County, ND and they had three sons, each named after grandparents: Gorman (my father); Murray and Daly. They are all deceased. It would be great to see any family photos. Somehow, I believe Owen McLaughlin ended up in Lewiston, ID, probably the home of one of his children.
