Cheri,
My kids keep wanting me to get a new fast internet connection, but it would mean I'd have to give up my email address for a new one. Then I'd miss out on connections with people who find me "after several years". I'm going to use you as a defense on my behalf!
Thanks for clearing up some of my Nutter questions. I should have asked about who the following is: George H. Nutter married Mary Peasley. Their daughter Blanche Caroline Nutter married Aaron Oothoudt. These Oothoudts, Longleys, and Nutters in Faribault County really got together, it seems. I did know about Mardelle marrying Erling M. Oothoudt, and it never clicked in my head that it was the same Longley family.
Andrew Oothoudt is my gg-grandfather. I grew up on the land he homesteaded in Faribault County, and my brother still lives there. Yes, you are right about LeRoy. The obit. says its Leroy County, but it's actually the name of the town, in Genesee Co. (or whatever one existed at that time). Andrew is the son of Alexander Oothoudt(b. 1787, son of Alexander) and Melinda Sykes (b. 1800, I think....don't have my records at the moment; dau. of Levi and Lydia Sykes). What kinds of data are you wondering about for Andrew?....or mainly just wondering about the Leroy confusion?
Margaret
