Joachim Ista was my great-grandfather on my father's side. His daughter Sarah married Louis Gruber Nov. 18, 1887, in Welch Township, Goodhue. Co.MN. My father was the next to the youngest of 11 children born to the couple. My brother still farms a portion of the farm owned by Joachim and his wife Dorothea. After his death she gave the farm to her daughters. One of the daughters, Annie, married Fred Frier. I remember Mr. and Mrs. Wally Frier living on that place when I was kid.
