My uncle, Paul Hugo Fritze, was 29 days old when he died and was buried in Smokey Hollow Cemetery in Smokey Hollow Township. My family visited about 50 years ago while we on a fishing vacation at Kitchi Lake. My father described the location as "on the road to the old FBI hut." We were trying to get back to the cabin where he was born but the road became so overgrown and rutted that we couldn't continue to the "hut." Right about there, there was a cemetery.
We went in and Dad pointed to about where my uncle "Paulie" was buried. When I saw it, it was bordered by a cast iron fence with a tall gate by the road and surrounded by brush. It was small with no grave markers but, as I remember it, it was mown so at least back then someone was tending it.
I am seeking to contact someone who might be willing to find it and note it's GPS coordinates so that I can create a record on Find-A-Grave. Any comments about the place, or even Smokey Hollow township in general, would be greatly appreciated.
