Can I have your email address? I have 2 census records that I could send you...also I am trying to do a little bit more research on the family. It appears as if the last name could have been Woodin at some point also. The family appears to have lived in Nebraska for some time, due to the younger children being marked as being born in Nebraska on the 1885 and 1895 censuses.

Both parents appear to have been born in New York according to the 1880 census. Her husband was Francis A. Wooden. A few of her children were Dan, Alice, and Winnifred.

Ok I am not completely sure if Myrtle is within my family line, but I have Hanson ancestors from Glendorado township. I looked at your post, and I cannot seem to find anything that mentions Myrtle as my great grandmother's sister, but their birth dates are similar. My great-grandmother, Bertha Hanson, was born in 1910 in Glendorado township. Her father's name was Henry George Hanson. I just looked at the obituary of my great-grandmother and noticed that it lists that she was survived by one sister and three preceded her in death. In my records, I have that Henry and Emmma Hanson only had 4 daughters...maybe we are related! Hope to hear back from you, would be interesting to hear your input!!

Myrtle Josephine Hanson Shaw

Hello,

I am researching my great-grandmother Myrtle Josephine Hanson Shaw born on 15 Dec, in between 1910-1912 (the year is in dispute and apparently, she had troubles with SSA later in life). She passed on 9 Sept, 1979 in Minneapolis, MN as a result of violence. Her husband, Albertus Eugene Shaw (married 31 Aug, 1929) had already passed.

Based upon early school records, it appears she lived in Glendorado, Benton County. Her fathers name was either Thomas, John or George, we are unsure which is correct. I assume she was born in the area, but do not know for sure.

I have a copy of death certificate, but do not have a birth certificate and think this may help confirm name of father and/or other information. We believe she was an only child, which seems to complicate things.

As note, early school record and death certificate have different father name. We do not know mother name either.

I’m not sure what else to do to track down some information to continue to research the line. Any suggestions would be most welcome!

If Catholic, check with the Stearns county historical society. They have church book there that was done by Father Pierz, Buh, and Tomazin. They traveled around the area (including Benton County), performing baptisms and church services. I found baptisms for my family in there and nowhere else.

Very likely but not definitely yet proved that Maria aka Mary Czarnetzki and Wilhelm were siblings. Also have the name of another sister. Best bet would be look up Trinity Lutheran church records; Sauk Rapids.
