Hello- Thought I would post a request for information about
the George Bennett Burdick Family. They were listed in the 1895 census for Farm island. From what I know they moved to Farm Island Township between 1890 and 1895 from Michigan. The returned to Michigan by 1900.
George Burdick B: 1845,Pennsylvania 3rd Wife: Alice May Nichols B: 1868, Indiana
Children:
Milo Addison Burdick B:1892 - Berrian Co, Michigan
Elmer Leroy Burdick (Aka John Murphy, Manistee, MI) B:1893- Berrian Co. Michigan
Wilbur Addison Burdick B:1895- Aitkin Co. MN
Asa Enderds Burdick B: 1896 -Aitkin Co. MN
Daisy Bell Burdick B: 1898- Aitkin Co. MN ( My Great Grandmother) Her father's occupation was listed as lumberman) Her birth info was not in the original birth Register for Aitkin Co. but in a Red Supplimental Book as when SSNs were needed to get a job she had to go back and get a birth certificate. A tip to others from Aitkin County when I went in the county employees did not know of the book, luckily my great uncle who had done previous research mentioned a supplimental book. After a bit of digging they found the book.
Charles Mortimer Burdick (aka Charles Vincient) from one of George's previous marriages also moved to Farm Island.
Charles married Sarah Wagner 1892 while living there and had two sons Austin and Owen Burdick. Charles married again, and had some run in with the law, as well as the mexican army from what I've heard.
I have the information from the 1895 census. I guess I'm asking if anyone has noticed them in any other Aitkin Co. historical documents.
I actually live in Brainerd now. Strange that my parents ended up so close to Aitkin Co 80 years after all these Burdicks left MN.
so Anyone looking for more info about this family or have anymore information you can share please let me know.
