I have very good reason to suspect that my ancestor, Daniel VAN VALIN, made a stop off in Michigan when he moved from Dutchess Co., NY to Racine/Walworth Co, WI.
I find him in 1820 in Fishkill, NY, but he is out of NY by 1830. Most of his children show up in Wisconsin by about 1836-1840, and census records show some of them lived in Michigan before arriving in Wisconsin.
I would appreciate a look-up in the 1830 and 1840 federal census for Daniel Van Valin (Van Valen, Van Vailen, etc) or anyone by that surname. His wife is Susannah/Sally/Sarah, but probably died about 1833.
Thanks.
