That's strange. I looked in other cemeteries in Pickford and don't see Catherin in any of the ones online.

Crawfords and Cleggs still live in the Pickford area as they are my dad's neighbors. We have no idea which cemetary they use though. Jimmy Clegg lives on Clegg Road and Al Crawford did. Al passed away 2 years ago and his brother Bob several years ago. Have you tried the Soo News archives?

I am Matilda (Steele) Lordson's great granddaughter, granddaughter of Alfred and Agnes Lordson, daughter of Francis Lordson.
Matilda was the daughter of Archibald and Isabella (Robertson) Steele. Archibald had two previous marriages and many children. Hence, the three of us are distant cousins. I descend from the Mary Steele (married Robert Francis O'Brien) branch.

I have several children listed for Caroline and James, but nothing on any descendants beyond that.

It would be in Chippewa County so you might search under cemetary listings there. Hope this helps. Casey Wise

They were originally living on St. Joseph's Island,ON. I am particularly interested in why the sisters left St. Joe's. My husband's grandmother was Ida Louise Cheer, daughter of Thomas and Catherine, born in 1900. She left St. Joe's in 1918 and came to St. Paul MN.

Do you have Timothy Fussey and Hannah Haigh in your family tree?

Timothy was born in March 1827 in Burstwick, East Yorkshire, England and he was the son of Anthony Fussey and Ann Sprox(t)on.

Hannah Haigh was born 1828 in East Yorkshire

Timothy and Hannah married on the 10 September 1854 in Ottringham, East Yorkshire and, shortly after their marriage emigrated to Canada. We think it may have been Wayne County, Michigan, Detroit.

We know of two children born to Timothy and Hannah and they are Fanny, who was born about 1856 and William Alfred, born about 1859, both born Michigan.

Although they obviously emigrated between their marriage date and the date of their first child I have been unable to find any further information about them, other than an 1890 Directory entry for a Hannah Fussey (widow Timothy), residing in Michigan.

I would like to fill a gap in my family tree.

Thank you

Brenda.

Coats Family Farm Picture in Michigan

Hello - Yesterday I 'rescued' an old photo album from an antique store in Olympia, WA. It appears to have belonged to the Coats / Coates family. Most pictures are not labeled, but the album is in fairly good shape. The Coats farm picture isn't labeled for location other than Michigan, but it is an older picture and might be of interest.

The following are names of people in album:

Tommy Album - child 1895 / Layport family - Grace, Merrit, Herman, Cora and Lela portrait / Susan Coats with Nina Phelps / Captain Oleson at helm of ship / *Coats family farm in winter in Michigan.* The back cover has a couple newspaper clippings regarding the marriage of Arthur Magnuson to Winifred Coats who were going to set up housekeeping in Raymond, Wa. Albert S. Coats owned Coats Shingle Company. I think he had three daughters, Winifred, Florence and Gladys. His wife and two daughters spent a year visiting in California. There is also a wonderful old picture of docked ships with the caption: Bark. Eureka. J. Patterson Master. This is an older picture. I would be happy to scan and send pictures. Also, I'd like to return this album to direct descendants if possible. Thanks, Sue sug53@earthlink.net

Does anyone have ANY info on Willis Taylor,I know he was in Marquette Twp,Mackinac Co.in 1920 &30.He had boarders in his home,so am assuming he lived in town.I'm thinking maybe the Pickford area as my Grandparents and parents used to come up to Munuscong Bay fishing, and seemed pretty fimialiar with the area. Willis died in June of 1964, THANKS Lori
