Charles Staley was my great-great grandfather. At least one of his sons, Sylvester, who lived in Buffalo,was involved with ships on the Great Lakes -- he is listed as a chief engineer on a "freight boat" in the 1910 US Census. Supposedly his brother, Vincent, my great-grandfather, was a captain of at least one ship, but I've not been able to verify it yet. Information on him is very sketchy.
