Based on information from the Poznan Project source that you reference, the answer to the question about Joseph Dropiewski’s parents, is probably on micro fish in the LDS records in Salt Lake. They have micro fish of the birth and death records from the same parishes as the marriage records. They evidently have not yet been translated and put on the internet. The other possibility to Matthias Dropiewski (in entry #24) being the father of Joseph Dropiewski, is that the Joseph Dropiewski in entry #26 is the father of the Joseph Dropiewski who settled in Parisville. All the records that I have seen indicate the Matthaeus (#26), Martinus(#24), and Joseph(Parisville) are closely related.

Some additional information: In 1862 Matthaeus Dropiewski (entry #26) in the Poznan Project results remarried. He married Catharina Pankanin in the Catholic Parish of Byszewo, entry # 8. In this marriage, his name is spelled Matthaeus Drapiewski. He and she are my great-grandparents. Matthaeus Drapiewski ( entry # 26 and Entry #8) is related to Martinus Dropiewski (Entry # 24) from Mt Carmel. Mrs. Martin (Agnes Malicka) Dropiewski died in July 1908 at Mt Carmel, Pa. There was an article in the Wilkes-Barre, Pa newspaper at the time that read as follows:

“Word has been received by Anthony and Stanley Drapiewski and Mrs. F. Piekarski of the death of their aunt, Mrs. Martin Drapiewski at Mt. Carmel. Deceased will be remembered by a number of Nanticoke people ads a former resident of this town.”

The persons in the above article are children of Matthaeus Drapiewski (#26& #8).

According to some additional family records that I have found, the Matthaeus descendants considered Martinus (Martin) (entry# 24) their Uncle, however, the Poznan records show that Martinus (#24) and Matthaeus (#26 & #8) had different parents. Therefore, more likely they were cousins, not brothers.

Jacob & Anna are the parents of my paternal grandmother Katherine. I have not been able to find info on her birth which shows in my records as Jackson Michigan. It sounds as tho our family lines cross. I would like to hear from you and we may be able to share info.
