I stumbled upon an 1840 census record for a Jemima De Lauche (head of household) and family for Detroit.

I have no idea if Jemima and family are related to my Canadian De Lauche (sometimes spelled Delauche) family line or not.

I am just posting here in case someone is researching the family.

Synopsis of the info:
Home in 1840: Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan
Jemima De Lauche (head of household):
White Males age 20-29 – 8
White Males age 50-59 – 1
While Females age 5-9 – 1
White Females age 15-19 – 1
White Females age 20-29
White Females age 40-49 – 1
Total in household: 13
