I am looking for a place that was called Summerville in Wayne County. This is what was written in my ancestor George Purdy's obit "He experienced religion in 1840; was baptized and became one of the constituent members of the Dearborn Baptist Church, and with a few others, labored to build up the cause of Christ there. ... remained weak and finally disbanded. In 1876 he assisted in organizing the Summerville church and with his wife became constituent members. He served as deacon of both churches. He was converted at a time when conviction was deep, and the change was deep, and the change was from darkness to light; he knew in whom he believed. On account of failing health ten years ago he moved to Dearborn Villiage, too far from the church of his choice to meet with them, yet remaining a member until death called him away." His original farm was on the Ecorse Creek near Telegraph and Van Born Road. It was on the boarder of Taylor Township and Dearborn Township. He was mentioned in the "Bark Covered House" by William Nowlin. I have checked with all resourses I have and can not find a reference to Summerville. I believe that it was a small community within another like Hands Station in Taylor Twp.
