I have a Mexican War pension file that doesn't belong to my family. I'm happy to send it to someone who it might belong to:

William Brown,
b. 12/10/1824 City of Cork, Ireland.
Was a sailor, in the US Navy on the USS Vixen, an ordinary seaman.

Papers say he was sailing most of the time, but made his home in Michigan. In March 1887 his mailng address was c/o St. Vincent Orphan Asylum, Detroit.

In April 1888 he lived at National Military Home, Montgomery County, Ohio. He d. Decmeber 1889.

No other family members are named in the papers.

If no one wants it, you might want to see if any Irish Genealogical Society would be interested in the papers. Two that I know of are the Irish Genealogical Society of Michigan and the Irish Genealogical Society International.
