Alfred or Fred J Pilette (born about 1867
possibly in Tecumseh, essex county, Canada) arriving in US about 1880 ?. Lived in the wayne
county area. He married an Amanda Moisan (b abt 1867 in Quebec) They married
when they were 20 (so about 1887) and had a Thomas Gideon Pilette. They were
both french canadian. He was a stationary engineer working for a fuel supply
company according to the 1930 census. His parents Janvier Pilette and Julienne Desmarais. We have been told that the Pilette's were one of the original familes in Detroit and that Alfred's grandfather or
great-grandfather married a Chippewa Indian. I haven't been able to find anything
after Janvier. And am also having trouble with the birth dates for Thomas Pilette. He could have been born in Michigan or Canada. I know his children were born in wayne county michigan. He married a Helen Bernadine Husted (from New Jersey)and also had a son named Thomas Gideon Pilette (born Dec 30 1922 and died in 1971) daughters Anntoinette(b?d?) and Joan (b 1921 d 1992) and a living son.Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Tammy
