Darius DOUGLASS is the son of Deacon Samuel DOUGLASS and Sarah SEAVER. He was born August 3, 1797, in Brookline Township, Hillsborough Co., New Hampshire. Darius was first married October 7, 1823, to Sarah HALSTED (place unknown). Sarah is the daughter of Joseph HALSTED and Catharine AGAN. Sarah was born May 28, 1797 (place unknown) and died October 1843, Washtenaw Co., MI. They had 8 children. According to a biograpical entry on his daughter, Louisa Jane (DOUGLASS) TICKNOR, Darius DOUGLASS came to Washtenaw Co. in September 1835. Darius DOUGLASS married a second time, Mrs. Harriet BROOKS, October 22, 1844, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Co., MI. Darius DOUGLASS died August 28, 1868, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Co., MI. Both Darius and Sarah are buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Ann Arbor, MI. Nothing more in known on Darius' second wife, Harriet.

1. Sarah Catharine DOUGLASS, b. February 7, 1825, (place unknown) and died February 1892, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Co., MI. Nothing more is known.

2. Louisa Jane DOUGLASS, b. May 20, 1826, Rensselaer Co., NY, married Giles Wolcott TICKNOR, April 9, 1844. To this union five children were born: Luther, Louis E. and child who died in infancy. Giles Wolcott TICKNOR was the son of Heman and Eliza TICKNOR. He was b. May 18, 1818, Rensselaer Co., NY. His death date is unknown. Louisa Jane DOUGLASS died September 24, 1900, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Co., MI. Both are buried at Forest Hills Cemetery, Ann Arbor, MI, near Louisa's parents.

3. Halsted L. or S. DOUGLASS, b. October 15, 1827 (place unknown), d. April 30, 1898, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Co., MI. In the 1850 Census for Washtenaw Co., Halsted appears to be listed as "Austin". Nothing more is known about Halsted or Austin DOUGLASS.

4. Delia Adaline DOUGLASS, b. June 29, 1829 (place unknown). Married 1st to Julius Caesar RUMSEY, June 28, 1848, Pittsfield, Washtenaw Co., MI. Julius C. RUMSEY d. March 22, 1855, Lowell, Lake Co., IN. He is buried at Forest Hills Cemetery, Ann Arbor, MI. Delia married 2nd to Daniel FRY, August 16, 1856, Lake Co., Indiana. Daniel died July 10, 1905. Delia died February 7 or 8, 1894. They are both buried in the Lowell Memorial Cemetery, Lowell, Lake Co., Indiana. Unknown whether Delia had any children with either of her husbands.

5. Simon Henry DOUGLASS, b. December 24, 1831 (place unknown), d. January 1897 (place unknown). Nothing more is known on Simon Henry DOUGLASS.

6. John D. DOUGLASS, b. January 19, 1834. Nothing more known on John.

7. George W. DOUGLASS, b. October 14, 1836. Nothing more known on George.

8. Harriet Caroline DOUGLASS, b. August 25, 1838, Pittsfield, Washtenaw Co., MI. Married Edwin TYLER, June 6, 1866, Pittsfield, Washtenaw Co., MI. Edwin TYLER was born June 4, 1837, Pittsfield, Washtenaw Co., MI, to Vanrennselaer TYLER and Rebecca DEWEY. Edwin and Harriet had 4 children: Frank Douglass, Ada May, Myrta Louise and Una Belle. Harriet Caroline (DOUGLASS) TYLER, d. May 22, 1911, Vermontville, Eaton Co., MI. Edwin TYLER, d. Feb. 26, 1924, Vermontville, Eaton Co., MI. They are both buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Vermontville, Eaton Co., MI.
