Age 63, died Thursday, February 9, 2006 at his home with his family by his side. He was born May 23,1942 in Plainwell, MI, the son of Donald and Frances (Oliver) Sines. On August 5, 1967 in Ida, Mich, he married Judy Lutz, and she survives. Jim was a life member of the First Presbyterian Church of Saline, and had been a guidance counselor for Lincoln High School for 31 years. He was a graduate of Western Michigan University, where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees, and attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Survivors in addition to his wife Judy include two sons, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Sines of Ferndale, MI, and Jason (Elaine) Sines of Tecumseh, MI; and his mother, Frances Sines of Plainwell, MI. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob, and Emily of Ferndale, MI, Christopher, Maria, and Teresa of Tecumseh, MI. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Sines. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Saline with Judy Shipman officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Saline, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Motor Neuron Disease Fund, Department of Neurology, University of Michigan Health System, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-0316.
