Passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at Meadow Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Haas was born June 12, 1924 in Schoolcraft, the son of Fern and Dora Haas and has resided in this area all of his life. Les was an avid farmer, enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his flowers, was a great storyteller, loved spending time with his grandkids and hated work. Surviving is his wife, Ella, whom he has been married to the past 62 years; five children, Charlene (Frank) Vizner, Rose (Ray) Lasco, Mike Haas, Dorothy Hall, Leonard (Pat) Brown; one daughter-in-law, Sue Page; two sons-in-law, Greg Bandick, Dale Hall; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie Hutchinson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard; two sisters, Dorothy and Walletta; and a brother, Gordon. The family will meet friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8 at the

where funeral services will be held Saturday 11 AM, Pastor Nate Baylor officiating. Interment will follow at Pearson Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Humane Society of the donor's choice.
