Passed away July 27th, 2009 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Claude will be remembered for her beautiful smile, passion for gardening, and her selfless acts as an amazing daughter and mother. Claude was a true nurturer, devoting her life to her daughters' happiness. And as all her friends know, she had the uncanny ability to keep any flowering plant alive past it's season. She is survived by her parents, Edvins and Lucie Svilpe; her daughters, Elizabeth and Stephanie Kiewiet; loving boyfriend, Dale Stell of Canandaigua, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Alain and Theresa Svilpe, and their daughter, Michelle, of Mattawan; and her sister and
brother-in-law, Laurie and Daniel Bachleda, and their children, Lauren and Michael of Naperville, IL. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, August 4th from 10 AM until noon at
Fuller Funeral Home on 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua, NY. A celebration of Claudé's life will follow after visitation at 12 PM. She will be buried at Canandaigua Lakeview Cemetery in Rushville, NY on Jones Rd. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Sonnenberg Gardens, 151 Charlotte St, Canandaigua, NY. A memorial will also be held in Kalamazoo at a later date.
