Departed his earthly body to be present with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, June 20, 2009. Roy's wife, Helen, sons David and Jim, daughter-in-law, Barb, and grandson, Luke, gathered around his bed in his home in Bozeman, MT, as he departed his earthly life. Roy was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Clair. He is survived by his wife, Helen S. Pease, of 64 years; sons, David and Jim of Bozeman, MT; sister, Roberta Hoyt of Allegan, MI; four grandchildren, Nathan of San Diego, CA; Andy of Round Rock, TX, Lisa Lute of Shreveport, LA, and Luke of Bozeman; six great granddaughters and one great grandson. Roy Pease was born Aug. 19, 1917 to Charles and Rena Pease in Belding, MI where his father was the preacher of the Belding Church of Christ. The family moved to Bloomingdale, MI in 1918 where his father preached at the old Church of Christ (Christian Church) for 34 years. Roy graduated from Bloomingdale High School in 1935. He was always proud of his heroic catch of the 1934 champion baseball team. Roy and his brother Clair and parents operated Maplewood Dairy in Bloomingdale until 1956. Roy and his family moved to Englewood, FL in 1956. Roy became an active citizen of Englewood. He served on the Englewood Water Board and Englewood Board of Realtors. He was the owner of Lemon Bay Realty and developed Holiday Mobile Estates as well as involved in development of Englewood Isles and Overbrook Gardens. Roy donated the land for Northside Church of Christ (Christian) where his son David preached and Roy served as an elder. Roy's sons moved to Montana in 1976, and he spent his summers there. Roy and his wife moved from Englewood to Bozeman to be with their sons as their health failed. The funeral will take place at the Bloomingdale Christian Church 11 AM Saturday, June 27, 2009.
