Passed away Thurs., July 16, 2009 at his home. Mr. Harrison was born January 30, 1918 in Alton, IL. Bob grew up in the Bloomingdale area, graduated from Bloomingdale High School and attended Western Michigan University. He enlisted in the Army during World War II, was stationed at the field hospital located at the airbase in Yunnanyi China. After the war, he returned to the Midwest and married Catherine Galway. During the Korean War he was recalled and served at Fort Lewis, WA and Fort Sill, OK. He returned to the Kalamazoo area and worked in the banking industry eventually retiring from First Federal Savings and Loan. He managed branch offices in Portage, Parchment and Paw Paw. He was active in the Portage Optimist Club and in St. Jude Parish in Gobles. Bob was well known for his sense of humor and his dedication to his family, church and the community. Surviving are three children, Susan (Steve) Webb of Diamond Bar, CA, Robert (Janine) Harrison of Stevensville, MI, Mary (Larry) McConnell of Taos, NM; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine in 2007 and his parents, Zephaniah and Edna Harrison. The family will meet friends Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 at the
