Passed away Friday, February 13, 2009 at home. He was born March 27, 1959 the son of Jack and Eleanor (Puhl) Leighton. He was employed for many years at Coca-Cola Foods in Paw Paw and currently at Midwest Fasteners in Decatur. Todd was preceded in death by his father Jack in 1964; his grandparents, Merl and Ruth Leighton, John and Elizabeth Puhl and Harley and Marleta Smith. He is survived by his fiancee Gina Bailey; daughter, Kori Leighton and her mother Kathy Fuentes; twins MaKenzie and Masen Leighton; step-children, Nicole, Emilee and Jacob Bailey; grandson, Destin Jacob Koppers; his parents, Norris and Eleanor Smith of Decatur; brothers, David Smith of Cleveland, OH, Bruce (Jill) Smith of Decatur; sisters, Debra Leighton of Kalamazoo and Teri (Chris) Vitale of South Bend, IN; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who miss him greatly. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services to celebrate Todd's life will be held 11 AM Thursday in the Newell Funeral Home, Decatur with Rev. Michael Heflin and Rev. Brian Hall officiating. The family will recieve friends one hour prior to the services. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
