While in the arms of his family, Jim passed away peacefully Monday evening, December 29, 2008 at his home. He was born November 28, 1937 in Detroit, MI, the son of (the late) James E. Lee Sr. and of Rosemary (Murphy) Lee. Jim served with pride in the Headquarters Company, First Marine Division in the United States Marine Corp. Jim has always dedicated his life to his family, giving his all to them. On September 6, 1958 in Battle Creek, Jim married his High School Sweetheart, Carol L. Hansen, who survives. Jim enjoyed time serving as Scout Master of Lawton Boy Scout Troop, member and past president of the Lawton Lions Club, former chief umpire for the Lawton Little League and a former member of the Barber Shop Quartet in Battle Creek. He also enjoyed participating in theatrical productions at Swift Lake Farms, Lawton, as well as in the Paw Paw Village Player's Grape Jams. Jim touched many lives, enriching all of them. He will be sorely missed. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 PM at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw with Pastor Ben Orion officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date.
