Passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at his home. Mr. Lake was born September 29, 1914, in
Columbia Township, where he resided all of his life. Mr. Lake was a veteran of W.W. II. He served in the 9th
Army Air Force where he was awarded the Distinguished Unit
Badge, the American Campaign
Medal, the W.W. II
Victory Medal, and the European African Campaign
Medal with six bronze stars. He was a radio and radar flight chief. He retired from the
Van Buren County Road Commission as a Survey Chief, was a life member of the Bloomingdale/Hudson
Lodge # 221 F&AM. He enjoyed gardening, especially his roses. He was preceded in death by two wives, Doris and
Luise, and a son, William. Friends may call Saturday 4-6 PM at the
