Of Arcadia, FL
Passed away Monday, December 1, 2008. He was born October 29, 1928 in Overisel, MI and moved to Arcadia nine years ago from Paw Paw, MI. Jud owned and operated his own shoe store business for most of his life. He held a Bachelors Degree in marketing and served our country in the US Air Force, retiring from service as a Major. He held a life long affiliation with the Elks Club, American Legion, VFW#2532, Lions Club and was also very active with the Big Tree Park group of activities and friends. Jud was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the Trinity Church of North Port, MI. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Joan L. Dannenberg, Arcadia, FL; two sons, Dwight (Debbie) Upston, Battle Creek, MI, and Marty Danberry of Chattanooga, TN; three daughters, Barbara (James) Barclay of Evergreen, CO, Jacklyn (Michael) Cummings of Fenton, MI and Shari Macaro of Mattawan, MI; one brother, Raymond (Mary) Dannenberg of Kalamazoo, MI; and one sister, Shirley (Ron) Seymour of Melbourne, FL; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Marshall J. Upston; a brother, Hilbert Dannenberg; and his parents, Tona and Sarah Dannenberg. Memorial Services and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date at The Big Tree Mobile Home Park Center, 2626 NE HWY 70, Arcadia, FL with Rev. Rowena Cowles and Rev. Clay Noah officiating. Interment to follow at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made in Jud's name to your favorite charity.
