Carl passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at his home in Spring Lake. Carl was born May 8, 1926 in Grand Haven, MI the son of the late John and Jennie (Hartman) Juk. He was a veteran of World War II service in the U.S. Army in the European Theater and received the Purple Heart with three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. Carl was a member, Deacon, Elder and Past Treasurer of the First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw, member of the Paw Paw School Board, Waverly Township Zoning Board, served on the Van Buren County Hospice Board, Habitat for Humanity and a member of the Saturday morning breakfast club. On October 20, 1951 in Grand Haven, Carl was united in marriage to the former Naomi Wells who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Steven (Kristina) Juk of Shelbyville and Paul Juk of St. Joseph; daughter, Lisa (Steve) Overacker of Spring Lake; foster daughter, Elaine Emmert of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren, Kristina (Jeff) Simpson, Daniel Juk, Sarah Overacker and Jill Overacker; foster grandson, Bryan E. Rodriquez; great grandchildren Gordon and Olivia Simpson; brother, Dr. James (Jeanne) Juk. Family will receive friends Saturday 10 to 11:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw with interment services following at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw with military honors. A memorial service will be held following the interment, 1 PM at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tom Abbott officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
