Bert passed away Tuesday evening, November 4, 2008 at his home. He was born August 16, 1921 in Antigo, WI the son of the late Hugh W. and Ethel P. (Bonnell) Nelson. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Coast Guard. He was employed at Van's Airport Furniture until his retirement in 1968 and worked for Meijer on West Main. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw. On March 8, 1941 in Green Bay, WI, Bert was united in marriage to Veretta "Sis" Sasman who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Carolyn (Jim) Neal of Farwell, MI; two grandsons, Timothy (Karen) Neal of Hartwell, GA and Patrick (Michelle) Neal of Hamilton, OH; five great grandchildren; four brothers, David of Sheboygan, WI, Richard of Phoenix, AZ, William of Grafton, WI and Kenneth (Mable) of Port Washington, WI; sister, Patty Braumgart of Fullerton, CA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Hooker; brother, Hugh; and two sisters, Beverly Smith and Mildred Schultz; Family will receive friends Friday 10 to 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw where funeral services will follow at 11 AM with Rev.
