Passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at Allegan General Hospital. John was born September 22, 1922 in Hammond, IN. John served in the U.S . Army during WWII. He was an avid sports fan and spent 25 years volunteering as an umpire with the Griffith Little League while he resided in Griffith, IN. After retirement, he moved to Scott Lake in Bloomingdale where he enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events. He was a WMU fan and served as secretary for his golf league at Jeptha Lake. Surviving are two sons, David (Brenda) and Gary (Grace); three grandchildren, Reggie, David and Carissa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jayne, in 1983; and later in life, his best friend, Ruth Keagle. The family will meet friends Thursday 6 - 8 PM at the
