Passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at home. Bela was born July 8, 1918 in Bangor, the son of Bela G. and Ada (Briggs) Kennedy, where he lived most of his life and was a fruit grower. He was a graduate of Michigan State University, worked at the US Department of Agriculture and was a district sales manager for Haviland Agricultural Company. He was a member of the Simpson United Methodist Church; the Michigan House of Representatives from 1971-1982 for the former 45th district; former past master of Coffinbury Lodge, 32 degree Mason and a member of the Saladin Temple. Surviving are his two daughters, Cindra (Dean) Bishop of Addison, TX, Dawne (James McGuire) Kennedy of Portage; one grandson, Nathan Biship of Addison, TX; a sister, Ardis I. Seifert of Kerrville, TX; a brother, Dail W. Kennedy of Petosky, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Eleene in 2005. The family will meet friends on Friday from 5-8 PM at the
