Passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo. Mr. Johnson was born January 6, 1924 in Ishpeming, MI. He was a Navy veteran of WW II, having served as a Machinist Mate on the troop supply ship the USS Burleigh in the Pacific Theatre. He worked for the Bendix Corp. and the Pall Corp. in Detroit. He was an avid Red Wings hockey fan. Surviving are his brother, Albert (Carole) Johnson of Concord, NC; a nephew, Brandon Johnson; a niece, Robyn (Randy) Rolier, both of Indiana; four step-children, Karen (Jim) Proctor of Grand Rapids, Jim Frank and his special friend, Fernando Menendez of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Rick Frank of Lawton and Russ (Myra) Frank of Muskegon; five step-grandchildren, Stacie, Brian, RJ, Tyler and Zach. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Johnson in 2006 and his parents, Wallace and Jennie Johnson. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the
