Paul Esterline
Esterline, Paul L. Vassar, Michigan Mr. Esterline, age 89 years, passed away September 16, 2006 at the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born on August 22, 1917 in Montpelier, Ohio to the late Virgil and Mary (Jackson) Esterline. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He retired as a radio and television repairman and was a member of Vassar Church of the Nazarene and the D.A.V. He married the former Nora Mae Frazier in 1946 in Flint, and she preceded him in death in 1990. He then married the former Dorothy McCoon in 1996 in Fairgrove, and she preceded him in death in 1997. Survivors include his three children, Jim (Sue) Esterline, Betty (Larry) Shannon and Mike (Barb) Esterline, all of Vassar; five grandchildren, Jeff, Dan, Casey, Ryan and Stacy; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Lucas and Tyler; two sisters, Evelyn (Bernie) Pastick and Mary Iturriaga, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Vassar Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Wermuth officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St., Vassar on Monday from 5-9 p.m. He will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to Vassar Church of the Nazarene.
