I am searching for any information on the WARREN family in Michigan. In particular the family of William and Rachel Warren located in the 1860 census of Brockway Township, St. Clair County, Michigan. The children of William and Rachel are listed as Truman, Herbert, James and Sarah. I have various documents stating that many members of the Warren family lived in the counties of Arenac, Alpena, Bay and St. Clair. Truman, Herbert and Sarah married their spouses in Bay County.
William and Rachel appear to have moved from New York (possibly Niagara County) to Michigan. Rachels parents were Moses and Ann Lewis. The Lewis family also moved to Brockway Township, St. Clair County according to the 1850 census.
Truman Warren married Alice Stizaker and they resided with their family in Bay and Arenac County. Their children were Charles, Frank and Richard. Richard was born in Bay City in 1876. Truman died in Arenac County, May 1918.
Herbert appears to have married twice, possibly three times. He married Sarah Stone then Addie Lake. Children unknown. Herbert died in Alpena County December 1938; he was 84 years old.
Sarah married Charles Ferguson. I believe there may have been several children to this union. I have located one record for their daughter, Nettie Gertrude Ferguson. Sarah Ferguson died in Genesee County in October 1939; she was 81 years old.
James appears only in the marriage certificate of his brother Herbert in 1894. James and his wife Mrs. James Warren are the witnesses and their residence was listed asWest Bay City. I have no other information.
Please contact me if you are searching the above family or have any information. Thank you.
