My grandfather was Henry Scharfenberg (Schafenberg, the spelling changed between 1908-14) b. 6/30/1884-d.1/1953, his parents were George (b. in NYC) and Elizabeth Lender (b. Rye, NY), his siblings were George, Robert, Charles and Elizabeth. There was a misunderstanding with his family and he lost touch. It is believed his sister Elizabeth married a man named McDonald and they were officers in the Salvation Army. When my grandfather died my uncle George heard from a cousin (Charles Schafenberg from Florida) sadly my uncle didn't get a phone # , address or any information about the family and never spoke to him again.
My grandfather married Johanna Elizabeth Glendon (Josephine), they had 7 children, Catherine (b. 1908-d. 197?)Josephine (b. ?-d 199?.), Dorothy (b. 1914), Edwin (b. 1917-d.
1988, my father), Howard, George, and Margaret (b.1927).

Would really like to hear from anyone who has info about my grandfather's family, it has been a family mystery for many years.
