They had a grandaughter, Sharon Livengood who took responsibility for Earl Warner Marvin's funeral. I do not know how to locate her. There are no Livengoods listed in that area. The Marvin's attended Higgins Lake Baptist Church. They are buried at Oakwood cemetery in Lyon township. If anyone can help me locate Sharon Livengood I would appreciate it.
Thank you.
Pat

I am sure that there are many decendants to this family still around the MI area. There are several surnames attached to this famlily also.
I have very little info here, but am looking for info on a drowning in Houghton Lake, possibly a woman and her daughter in the 1930's w/ the last name of Stebner. They were members of the family and the surviving husband/father would never speak of them (from what I remember as a youth). Now there is no one else left to ask. Any help you can provide will be most helpful! The family had a cottage on the south side of the lake, but were residents of Riga, Michigan. Thanks, Sandy

Hi again David,
After a quick look at the updated online databases I see now that Kenneth's parents were James Alfred Fairbotham and Mabel Brown! No mystery any more - you are my wife Victoria's 5th cousin and the family tree is reasonably reliable back to 1750. Contact me at hardy@iae.nl if you would like more details.

Best wishes for Christmas from the "family" !

David

Hi David,

I am delighted you have got in touch! I have been researching the Hull Fairbothams for 5 years now and Kenneth H Fairbotham has always been a puzzle for me. There are two main Fairbotham families in Hull and he doesn't seem to fit into either of them. I should first explain that I am interested in the Fairbothams because I am married to one.
Unfortunately to start investigating your family properly we really need to have details about Kenneth's parents to be able to find them in the 1901 Census. I haven't ordered his 1913 birth certificate or his 1942 marriage certificate ! Have you got any more information?

Best wishes,

David Hardy

a question about st.helena island

I have family that I previously assumed was born on Mackinac Island... I came across some records today on the LDS site that mentioned St. Helena Island. I know its a broad request...but is there any way I can connect the two islands to eachother...I know very little about Michigan, and this island and county are both very new to me.

Looking for any information on Samuel Knapp born May 1839 in New York. He married Sarah (Miles or Mills or McGee) in Michigan. Sarah was born in 1845 in Michigan. They had 3 children all born in Michigan: Ada in 1865 (married Charles Kellog), Jesse in 1867 (married Lida Soule) and Carrie in 1869 (married Eugene Stanley). Samuel's sister or cousin Ada married James Harrison of Washkema Township in Kalamazoo county in 1864. I have no information on the parents or siblings of Samuel or Sarah. This leaves too much of a hole, can anyone help fill it?

Would anyone have any information regarding the family of a great-uncle of mine? His name was Percy Garland, although I believe he was known as Ben. He moved to Michigan from the UK in 1929 and lived between Roscommon and Grayling, Michigan. I visited from the UK with my parents in 1980, but have lost touch since then. He died in the late 1980s, leaving a wife - Evelyn, a son and daughter-in-law - Charlie and Joyce and two grandsons Mike and Chris. If anyone has any information on any of the above named, please contact me.
