I'm the granddaughter of John Sandraco, the one who lived in Michigan (the address given was correct), and it was actually me who found your name on the internet. We think that your father was my grand-father's half brother. We think this based on the information given (Boxer, moved to Chicago, his name was John Sandraco). All we wanted to know was: 1) Was his full name John Sandraco? Where was he originally from? What was he like?

My grandmother said that my grandfather's dad left when he was an infant, that he and my great-grandmother might not have even been married; etc. Yes, our family history says that my great-grandfather was a boxer and that he moved to Chicago; but that is all the info we have. Do you know where he originally came from? We were assuming Italy or Sicily, but we have no info. I was looking online because I wanted to put together a family tree; but without a name I can't do much. When I have contacted you in the past I wasn't married so I was contacting you under the name Dena Luckett.

Please, if you think that your father could be my grandfather's half brother please contact me at denacallahan@yahoo.com

Mike,

Jacob Strzelecki was a violin player at weddings in the Posen/Metz area around the turn of the century. I have a photo of him holding a violin.
John,

My great grandfather was Jacob Jaracz who later changed his name to Yarch. He and his family eventually moved to Rogers City, Michigan. One of Jake's neices had a copy of her father's Poland birth certificate and lent it to my grandmother several years ago. I translated it and found where the Jaracz' were living in Poland. Someone else in this post sent for films based on that find. I'd be glad to help you. I trade freely.
I think you are dealing with a totally different Konwinski group. John S had one brother who lived in Chicago, my ggrandfather, Walenty Konwinski. There was also a 1st cousin who came to Chicago after living in Michigan for a number of years, his name as Stanislaus Konwinski, I have traced this Konwinski line pretty well.

Where did you get the address 1923 W Walcott. Walcott is a north/south street. What year is this address from? If the actual address is 1923 S. Walcott you might want to check the records from St. Casimir Church in Chicago. You might find more info there.

Arleen

Hello -
I was reading through your postings and think that I may be the great grandaughter of the very same John S. Konwinski. My father was Andrew Joseph Konwinski, his father was Joseph Walter Konwinski (married to Lucille Zablocki) and for a time they lived at 1923 W. Wolcott, Chicago, IL. I know my grandfather (Joseph Walter) had a brother named John, but I am not sure if that is John S, or if John S is his father. By any chance do you know this line of the Konwinski's?
