Hi! Recently a friend and I were transcribing St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery in Metz and are trying to translate the inscriptions. I have figured out a few, thanks to the Internet, but have a few I still need help with.

Tu Spoczywa S.P. or Tu SpoczWa S. P.
N.S.W.
Prosiozdrowas
Umarla Bnai 2 Sier 1904 W. 22 im Roku zycia
Um muai
Mrt. Eusz Ludowika (??mother of Eusz Ludowika???)
Zonga
Rozalia, Wiktorya corka Rozali i Andreya i Rozalii Burzych
Some tombstones are hard to read...so spelling may be an issue.
Thanks for the help.

My friend who remembers some Polish, has translated a few words on the headstone you recorded.

Tu Spoczywa is Here Lies/Resting

Umarla Bnai 2 Sier 1904 w. 22 im roku zycia
Died 2 Aug. 1904 22 years of life

She thinks Ludowika is Louise or Lucille

Zona is wife

Rozalia, Wiktorya corka Rozali i Andreya, Rosali Burzych
Rose/Rosa, victoria daughter " Andrew, Rose/Rosa Burzych

Hope this helps with this puzzle.

Kathleen

It is hard to translate, but more-or-less it translates to (I corrected the obviously mispelled words):

Tu Spoczywa = here rests

S.P. = hard to translate, means "in holy memory of"

N.S.W. = if it was N.S.W.P, it would mean "rest in peace"

Prosi o zdrowas [Mario] = asks for "Hail Mary" prayer

Umarla dnia 2 Sier 1904 = She died on August 2nd, 1904

W 22-im Roku zycia = she was 22 years old

Umarli = Dead

Mrt. Eusz Ludowika = could be: "Mateusz Ludwik" or "maz ???Ludwik", which means "husband ??? Ludwik"

Zona Rozalia = wife Rozalia (Rosalie)

Wiktorya corka Andrzeya i Rozalii Burzych = Wiktoria, daugther of Andrzey and Rozalia nee Burzych

Mateusz is Matt
Ludwik is Louis
Rozalia is Rosalie
Wiktoria is Victoria
Andrzey (Andrzej) is Andrew

Hi! I need more help, please!
1) "Niech odpoczylwa w plkoju" means?
2)Does the suffix "ego" mean anything? For example, the stone says "Wisniewski", but then is says Rozalia zona (Rozalia, wife of )Bartlomieja Wisniewskiego.
3) Does R. P. mean anything? It appears with the dates.
Thanks again for the help!
