Marlene passed away Wednesday morning, April 23, 2008 at
Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. She was born September 18, 1935 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Eugene and Ruth (
Melton)
Nabors. She was employed by the U.S. Postal
Service in
Gaylord, MI until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw, West
Michigan Association for the deaf, the
Michigan Snowmobile Association for the deaf and loved yard work and gardening. On May 13, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Paw Paw she was united in marriage to Dale A. Phillips who survives. Also surviving are a son, Douglas (Bonnie)
Lukas of EastPointe, MI; daughter, Pamela
Lukas of Paw Paw; grandson, Jacob
Lukas of Paw Paw; and a loving lifelong friend, Janice
Logan of
Salem, OR. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence
Lukas on March 1, 1997; granddaughter, Janette
Lukas and a brother, Eugene
Nabors. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw in memory of Marlene. Arrangements are by the
