I just came across your post on the Cutting House and was most interested. I volunteer at the Troy Historic Village and am always looking for more information regarding the buildings we have there. Of course, our General Store is a replica of the original.
Interestingly also, is your recollection of the Gow family. Back in the 1960s, the barn was called "Gow's Little Acre" and had been converted into a novelty shop. They sold some really unique stationary, pottery and jewelry among other things. I don't recall the date, but the barn was destroyed by a fire. Part of the carriage house was brought back to Troy Historic Village and currently functions as our Carriage Shop.
I was wondering if anyone has any photos of the Cutting family. If you have any or can direct me to someone who might, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
