Let me start with Henry and Tille Prenger: They did not die in a house fire in 1958. Tille Prenger (VandenBosch) died 20 November 1916 in Zeeland, Ottawa County, Michigan. She was probably visiting family there or was with family there while ill. She died of endocarditis. She is buried in the Richland North Cemetery in Lucas, Missaukee County, MI. She was born 9 October 1870 in Zeeland, Ottawa County, MI., daughter of Peter VandenBosch and Grietje Kok. Henry Prenger was born in 1862 in the Netherlands and died in 1938 in Missaukee County. I do not know how he died but he did not die in 1958. He is buried next to Tillie in the Richland North Cemetery, Lucas, Missaukee County, MI.
I have no knowledge of when, where, or how Cornelius died. If you could find out where he died (at least the county) then you could contact the county clerk and obtain his death certificate. That would tell you how he died, where, etc. He was born 8 January 1875 in Michigan. You can use that when asking a county clerk about death information. You must have an idea where the family settled and where subsequent family members, like where your mother-in-law were born and raised. The only thing I found was that the family was living in St. Ignace in 1930.
I have a connection to the family in a roundabout way. Through the second wife of Louis Carson (Lutje Karst) my wife's family is related through marriage. But the relationship is not close at all...no bloodline. That is how I came to research some of the Carson family but I mainly was helping the previous person on this thread who had posted a question about them.
Hope you are able to find some additional information.
