DEGREVE/DEGRAVE family

Looking for information on the family of Francois Xavier (Frank)DEGREVE b. 1842; and Alexandrine MACCO b. 1848.

The family immigrated to Cedarville Township sometime after 1880 with 8 children. I suspect they had more children in Michigan. Francois Xavier (Frank) had died prior to 1903.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone researching this family.

Octavie DeGrave was the second wife of my g-g-g-grandfather; they were both born in Belgium and emigrated to Brown Co., WI. There were other DeGraves in that area. I have seen the name mispelled DeGraf in public records, census I think. Good luck.

ps There is a lot of infor for Brown Co. in USGenWeb.

Thanks for your reply Catherine

There were several families of DEGREVE's who came to Wisconsin in the 1850's and settled in Kewaunee Co. My Great Grand Aunt (Alexandrine MACCO) married Francios Xavier DEGREVE in about 1867. They moved to Menominee Co in about 1900 with their family.

I'm still looking for her descendents.

Thanks again.

Could you please look up the name "Uittendaele" . The info I have is that it is the original name for what is now "Whitens" and the family came from the town Ordegana in Belgium. My Grandfather was George Whitens, married to Flora Savord. My Grandfather died in 1952 in Hermansville. My Great-grandfather was August Whitens; perhaps he came to United States as a child? Thank you in advance!

Hello,
I am very intersted in my american cousins ! I think that at least some of the Degreve in the Wisonsin are descendants of the family I have studied in Tourinnes-la-Grosse. For exemple, Antoinettre Degreve wife of Jean Pierre Wery is a daughter of my ancestor. She arrived in Red River in 1855 or 1856.
How could I look at the list of Belgian emigrants ?
Sincerely yours
Renaud Degreve

Hi again
I saw that your ancestor is François Xavier Degreve born in 1842.
Do you know that he is born in Tourinnes-la-Grosse ? I can send you his parents, and perhaps more.
Best regards
