Classification: Lookup
Surnames: Bowden, Searle
Looking for information on my relations who emigrated to Negaunee, Marquette County, in the 1880s, from England. They came to work in the iron ore mines, originally from Cornwall.
Their names were Richard & Emma Searle, daughter Elizabeth Ellen (bn. 1861, Cornwall) and her husband, John Bowden, (bn. c. 1860, Cornwall). John & Ellen had 6 children; Jessie (bn.1880), Emma (1882), George (1885), John (1888), Ethel (1893) & William (1896). Ethel and William were born in Negaunee.
Would particularly like details of an interview with John Bowden which took place in the 1920s. The record is located in the J.M. Longyear Research Library at the Marquette County History Museum. Also, any other information on the family which can be found here, or would like to hear from anyone connected to this family.
